How Do I Align My Entire Content To The Left?

Question

I have a page with three columns: Side bar 1 -> Main Content -> Side bar 2. How do I ensure that side bar 1 always aligns to the left most part of the screen?

Hi Tariq

You can go to

Pagelines > Site Option > Layout Editor

and select

The Default Layout as you like

Each sidebar, by default, aligns left.  However, things you place in the sidebar may be centered.  For example, if you placed a widget from a third-party plugin that has its own CSS calling for that content to be centered, you'd need to change the CSS individually, as our default alignment will be overwritten by the widget's CSS.

Using Firebug for Firefox can help you identify the alignment and modify as desired, but keep in mind that when a developer does align things to the center or right, there's a good reason for it. Changing them can disrupt the look or even the functionality of the widget.

Many widgets that include lists actually indent the content or place bullets in front of each line item. That doesn't change left alignment, but it does add a space to the left.  This can be adjusted with CSS.
