I have added page transitions to a 2.3.7 Dev install. Everything works really well with the exception of the Carousel ignoring the thumbnail width/height settings and stacking them vertically in a single column (Screenie-A.png).

Also, I am receiving the JS error "Uncaught Error: jCarousel: No width/height set for items. This will cause an infinite loop. Aborting..." I can only speculate that there is a conflict between the jcarousel.js file and jQuery 1.8.3.

The script I am using looks like this:

<!-- Fade PAGE -->

<script type="text/javascript" src="

"></script>

<script type="text/javascript">

$(document).ready(function()

{

// fade in content.

$( '#site' ).fadeIn("slow");

});

</script>

I have also tried:

<script type="text/javascript" src="

"></script>

<script type="text/javascript">
$(window).load(function() {
  $("#site").each(function(i) {
    $(this).fadeIn("slow");
  });
});
</script>

(In each instance the CSS for #site is display:none)

I have tried the following without success:
  • Updated WordPress install to jQuery 1.8.3
  • Added no.conflict
  • Set the width/height Carousel settings in the Site Defaults Dashboard
  • Set the width/height Carousel settings in the Post Meta
  • Inserted the script directly to header.php
  • Inserted the script in Site Options > Custom Code > Header Scripts

The only thing that has had any effect is setting (this.wh,j+100+"px") to (this.wh,j+839+"px") which seems to recognize the thumbnail width/height, but then stacks the rows (see Screenie-B.png).

Anyone have any ideas how to sort this?

Replace the $ with jQuery.

Just tried it with both scripts. No effect and error is still present.

There's no conflict with 1.8 because Wordpress 3.5 wraps in 1.8 and well, PageLines has been kosher with 3.5 since it was in Alpha. You have an error in your script, which is why it's not working. Also, you cannot use $ in a Wordpress site like that, it has to be in no conflict mode. Lastly, we'll be taking shots int eh dark without a live link to see.

Thanks for the insight. Here's what I know...

  • The site is built on WP 3.4.2
  • The WP install is using jQuery 1.7.2
  • When I replace 1.7.2 with 1.8.3 the issue occurs
  • The fadeIn script currently has $ replaced with jQuery

And I apologize for omitting the link. Here it is

(FYI - Currently, I have set the "100"  to "839" as mentioned in my original post. The client is happy with this for the time being.)

Cool site. Seems to be working ok? Although it looks like your loading both jQuery 1.7 and 1.8.

Thank you! It is loading both ATM ( I reverted WP back to original as a "just in case.") And is I didn't have elevetybazillion tabs open, I would have given a link directly to one of the pages with the Carousel :) Here's one

 If you get a chance to have a look, you'll see the Carousel has stacked the thumbs...

FYI - unless anyone has any other ideas, I am going to disable the script for now. There is an email blast going out that is driving the timeline and the site needs to be fully functioning...
