Hi Pagelines,

I am trying to link the carousel images to different pages in my site and can't figure it out. I've looked throughout the forum and can't seem to find an exact answer. The closest one was from a girl who paid someone on fiver to help her. Here's what I tried so far:

Went to Gallery > Options > Effects > Set Javascript Thumbnail Effect to ‘None’
  • Please Login or Register to see this Hidden Content

  • Please Login or Register to see this Hidden Content

    .
  • put "Link" as a custom field and added the page urls in each image "Link" field.
  • Went to Plugins > Editor > Switch to NextGEN Gallery in the Drop down Box > and click on nextgen-gallery/view/gallery.php
  • Found this code:

<div class="ngg-gallery-thumbnail" >
<a href="<?php echo $image->imageURL ?>"
title="<?php echo $image->description ?>"
<?php echo $image-<thumbcode ?> >

<img title="<?php echo $image->alttext ?>"
alt="<?php echo $image->alttext ?>" src="<?php echo $image->
thumbnailURL ?>"
<?php echo $image-<size ?> />

</a>
</div>

Replaced it with this code:

<div class="ngg-gallery-thumbnail" >
<a href="<?php echo $image->ngg_custom_fields["Link"]; ?>"
title="<?php echo $image->description ?>"
<?php echo $image->thumbcode ?> >
<img title="<?php echo $image->alttext ?>"
alt="<?php echo $image->alttext ?>" src="<?php echo $image->
thumbnailURL ?>"
<?php echo $image->size ?> /></a>

<a href="<?php echo $image->ngg_custom_fields["Link"]; ?>">
<?php echo $image->alttext ?>
</div>

Please help!

My best,

Stephanie

Hi there, if you got the above code from another post can you drop a link in for us, then we can take a look at exactly what the result was.

It looks like you're editing the code inside the nextgen plugin. Unfortunately we're unable to assist in editing third party plugins, which was probably why the previous user got someone independent to code the fix for them. Also any edits you make to the plugin code will be erased when you receive plugin updates.

If you're looking to make the images on the carousel link to pages on your site and you're not sure of the correct coding, you might need to look into getting the Pagelines Pro's to assist you with creating a custom code/section. You can find out more about them at www.pagelines.com/pros/

Hi there, it's not something the section will allow out of the box unfortunately. A couple of clients have used a third party carousel like

Please Login or Register to see this Hidden Content

which allows the images to be linked to other pages/urls.

We've suggested this as an update to our carousel in the future, there are some third party carousel sections in the store, but it doesn't look like any of them include this feature as of yet.
