When I add this to my child theme's functions.php:

shortcodes just get hidden (i.e. do not display at all)

Without that code in functions.php, the plain text of the shortcode is displayed.

On non-PageLines themes, this works and I've seen the above code elsewhere in this forum but only for PlatformPro or legacy themes (e.g.

). Please provide instructions for enabling shortcode support in widgets in the current version of PageLines.

Thank you.

They always have been enabled in widgets, that code is not needed. Maybe your shortcode is broken.

Thanks for confirming that if PageLines or a PL child theme is my active theme, shortcodes should work in any widget.

Here's what I discovered:
- [pl_raw] ... [/pl_raw] doesn't work inside widgets
- if you use it, the whole shortcode within it is gone/ignored
- without pl_raw, shortcodes in widgets work

I thought always using pl_raw was best (sort of like overkill if not really needed - i.e. if a problem isn't noticed first).
I guess not.
Can you please confirm/explain?

Thank you very much.
