Evening All!

Can i use SEO YEOST on a page that doesn't have any main page content on the page itself except for wording in the sections (masthead, boxes and banners)

i read the following post but i think it's out of date and doesn't seem to work

No, yoast or any other 'seo' plugin read the post content or the post excerpt, they will not pick up sections inserted into the page, so even if you have no content/postloop enabled on the page add content anyway so the plugin picks up the keywords. Worth a try.

Hi Simon, thanks for the reply.

Do you mean i need to add content to get it to work? is it a bad idea to not have content and just sections.

Well you said you have a page with no actual content area, so even if its not visible to the end user, adding it to the content area at leat gives the plugin something

sorry i see what you mean. Great idea - i shall give it a try, The reason i didnt do this was i once made a site i couldnt get into google rankings with a few years ago. i had used sliced images as it was from .psd provided by the owner and i got round i by having the image tet in white at the bottom of the page in the footer and google penalised me for it (i believe) - for having font that wasnt visible. that;s what i was led to believe anyway.

i shall try this..

thanks
