Need help with Customising backgrounds content areas - main column and sidebar

Question

I am wanting to set the overall content area with a white transparent background and then set solid white backgrounds for the main content or postloop area, and the sidebar. Both need to be styled so that the transparency shows at the sides and in between the 2 copntent areas as shown above. I also need both areas to sit flush at the top (and bottom) as seen a above - link is http://theresaevans.co.nz/?page_id=29

Any ideas wd b greatly appreciated.

Hi Chris,

We've just checked this out in live chat, I'll paste info here for you as well.

Currently you have negative padding applied to the mcolumn pad which has moved up the left side only. I'd advise you remove this and then applied 0 padding to the #content-pad to achieve the affect above and move up the sidebar as well as the main page content.

The page canvas is currently set to white, in order to return it to transparent like in the shot above I'd apply the below css to the section as a bg instead of white. As you've set css for the mcolumn pad and sidebar widget to be white, the below code will give the transparent effect behind them.

#content .content-pad {

    background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0.41);

}
