Hey guys. So I was looking at this site :

, and would like to imitate the way the latest posts are shown on the homepage. I would like to create a section for drag and drop so I can put the latest posts on the homepage, say 5 like in the above example. I have tried to use Simon's example I was given from Danny, but notice it refers to Platform and I wasn't sure where I would put the section and assume it is different. I tried to use array and set 5 last posts and specify a given category I would like to show, but I was presented with 500 Server Error so assume I am doing something majorly wrong, as well as likely placing it in the wrong place. I moved it to /wp-content/plugins/pagelines-sections and it looks something like this

. My php is nothing short of tragic so I apologise for that. Thanks for your help guys!

You can achieve the look you're going for by going to Site Options > Blog and Posts > Blog Post Layout Mode and selecting Magazine Layout Mode and then proceed from there to perform the customizations. My PHP is tragic, too, but if you find yourself overwhelmed, you can hire a pro:

I can get the post 'excerpts' on the homepage that way can I? I have tried to do what you have mentioned but fail to see any settings in that section for adding say 5 post excerpts to the homepage. I have ticked the single post pages to include post excerpts but not really sure what that has changed. thanks

This works, you have to put it in the page template area NOT content area.

Where exactly are you putting the code? Are you putting it in the functions.php file?
