The page background is transparent. Looking to make the color of the page black or white. Trying to set the layout apart from the background. When the colors are set in the control panel of the theme, it seems the software is not taking the hex numbers. Is there another way to set the colors for the page?

You can try add in
PageLines > Site Options > Custom Code > CSS Rules

 body, body.fixed_width { background-color: red;}

You may also use color codes there, such as #C00000 , if you wish to use more specific colors.

Are you trying to set a background color for a specific page?

Set the page color for all pages. The background of the over all site has a photograph. The page that floats over it is transparent. I want to set the page to white.

HI, Can you provide a link to your website that is using PageLines Framework please. The one above is using Twenty Eleven theme.
