What is the best way to achieve this layout please?

I want to have the content of boxes 1, 2 and 3 editable. Ideally the content will come from a page for each.

First, I'd suggest you start with our documentation.

Use MenuClassic for your menu in the header. Use the default branding and upload your logo in Side Options > Webstie Setup. As for box 1. That's the content area in a static homepage. Box 2. is a text widget inside your sidebar (with one sidebar set on the right). Box 3 is the same as 2 with different content. The footer is set up with a text widget containing your copyright info.

Many thanks for your time! Love the menu classic more than the navbar. I used a plugin called 'page in widget' which helped me to make it easier to edit the widgets. I don't like the gap at the top of the sidebar section which seems to be caused by a margin setting applicable to all site text. When I amend this it messes up the space between paragraphs everywhere, but fixes the gap at the top of the sidebar. Not good.
