Universal sidebar widget aligne right

Question

Posted · Report post

I am looking in this forum trying to learn from all the great help that is provide in here. As well as looking at http://www.w3schools.com/css/css_text.asp and other sites. But I dont se a pattern at all... I thought I could align a shortcode widget in the universal sidebar to the right. But either there is color added or something else strange happens. But the widget remains to the left no matter what I do. Any help would be much appreciated. I was abandon ;-) in another thread that I did close to soon.

You can try add in PageLines > Site Options > Custom Code > CSS Rules .button-alt { float: right; } But iIm not sure, because it move the header bottom too.

Where is the universal sidebar Peter? If you use Firebug or Chrome Inspection Tools, you should be able to narrow down the specific elements within the sidebar to align or float them to the right.

@rangelone, it??s at the top, above the branding. The little cart widget sits there. I am learning the structure of all CSS now so hopefully you won??t have to help me withe these stupid questions. But I am not there yet. As how .button-alt { float: right; } could do what it did is not making any sense. But it almost worked ;-)

Hi, Try something like this:
#sb_universal .content { position: absolute; right: 220px; margin: 0 auto; }
Nop, It didn't do anything. The button is right but the content still left.

@Catrina I don't have a "user login widget". I have a "cart widget". Not sure what you mean.

Peter, Using Firebug, I found that this change works. Please add it to Custom Code > CSS Rules:
.button-alt { background: none repeat scroll 0 0 #069BCD; border: 0 none; border-radius: 3px 3px 3px 3px; color: #FFFFFF !important; cursor: pointer; float: right; font-family: inherit; font-size: 12px !important; line-height: 1em !important; margin: 4px 2px 0 0; padding: 6px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: middle !important; width: auto !important; }
That moved the whole thing.
