hi guys, sorry if this is a noob question, I am quite new to wordpress in terms of editing themes etc. I would like to have the front page of my website, have a paragraph intro to the site, then top 3 latest blog posts, then underneath some more static content for the front page. Can anyone advise how you actually set this up? Cheers

Hi You can define a page in Setting > Reading > Front Page Display You select A static Page like a "front page" Then you can use "Latest Blog Entries" you find it in the store.

Batman is correct, though I use Special Recent Posts (SRP) which applies a shortcode you customize as you please.

With SRP you could display posts from specific categories, for example, to keep your front page organized as you wish. You have lots of options, and because it's a shortcode, you can apply it as you wish.
