Displaying Categories / Tags

Question

Posted · Report post

I ran across a site that displays categories and tags the way that I would like to. I tried to configure it, but I can't figure it out. I'm not very good with .css. I can get myself into trouble...but can't get out of trouble! ;-) Just wondering if PageLines Pro can do this... Here's a clip of the blog page: Capture5.png Here's a clip of the actual post: Capture6.png

If only the metabar were a section... Hm, I will work on that! For now, this is a job left for the Pagelines Pros, who you can contact in the Resources drop down tab.

Hi Rhelling, I'm sure a PageLines Pro will be able to assist you. - http://www.pagelines.com/pros/

I'm new to this... Should I assume that I have to hire a Pageline Pro for that?!?

You may be able to add something on your own but it will require some custom PHP and CSS coding, then implemented in a hook. Have you checked out the Action Map plugin to see which hook locations are available?

Well...that's what I was actually afraid of. :-) (I have no idea what a "hook" is...) ...and I searched plugin's for 'Action Map' but nothing came up. I can tinker around in .css 'okay'....but when you start talking about .php and hooks, etc...it starts to go over my head. I like to try...and get my hands dirty...but if it's way to complicated I'll just save it for another day.

If you install the PageLines Customize plugin (http://www.pagelines.com/wiki/How_to_Use_the_PageLines_Customize_Plugin), there are instructions and an example included in the file where the hooks are supposed to go. We can guide you through the process of creating the hook you need. Also, the Action Map plugin is available in the PageLines Store: http://www.pagelines.com/store/plugins/pagelines-action-map/
