Feature slider text shadowing/doubling

Question

Posted · Report post

Does anyone know why the text within my features looks shadowed/doubled? It happens in Chrome and Firefox and I don't like it! Here's a screen shot of what I mean: featuretext.png My test site is here: http://tinyurl.com/7rk7dqu Any help much appreciated! thanks, Joe.

I don't see the effect in the screenshot and I don't see it on your test site. Maybe I'm misunderstanding the issue...? Or just not seeing it with my eyes.

Hi Catrina, I can actually see the effect happen as each slide loads.. here's a screen shot in the split second as the feature slide loads: then it seems to double up the text so it's not as crisp: Any ideas how I can get rid of the double effect? Many thanks, Joe.

I don't see the double effect on your site either. I also checked the CSS and there is no odd CSS for the feature text (i.e. no text shadow, etc). You can try adding this to your custom CSS although I have no idea if it will work as I don't see anything wrong:
#feature_slider .text-right .fexcerpt, #feature_slider .text-left .fexcerpt { font-weight: normal; }
Hi Jenny, Unfortunately that custom CSS doesn't make any difference. I'm surprised you can't see the difference in my screenshots above? Many thanks for trying anyway. Joe.

Hi Joe. I can see the difference in your screen shots, but I cannot see one live on your site. Without being able to see it live, I'm not sure what other advice to give you. As I've said, there is no "bold" or "text shadow" element so I'm not sure what else it could be except for a fade effect (try turning it off if you have one?).

Visit the page that has your features on it and edit that page. Check the PageLines Meta Settings at the bottom (click the Features tab). http://www.pagelines.com/wiki/How_to_Use_the_Features_Section

Oh I see, Yes it's still an issue regardless of the transition effect I use. I'm going to leave the topic open in case anyone else has encountered the same problem and can help out.. many thanks, Joe.

Joe, which browser did you see the problem with? I'm looking in IE9 and Firefox and see no issues. This could be browser specific. Are the features meta settings on the page the same as those set globally?

hmmm, looks like it happens on Firefox and Chrome on my Mac but not in Safari.. so does seem to be a browser specific issue. I think my meta/global setting are the seem. It's not a major problem so I think I'll just leave it! thanks for your help anyway. Joe.
