Change header background color and make it full-width.

Question

Posted · Report post

hello, I've spent a hour trying to figure out the css header to make it full-width with a black background color. I was able to make the background color black, but was not able to make it full-width similar to the footer. Tried css: width: 100% but no luck. Ultimate goal is to make everything above the line below the nav black and full width. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Have you tried this CSS?:
#header {background-color: #000 !important;}
If this code works, you'll need to also change the background color for your menu items since the text links are black and their backgrounds are currently transparent. You may also need to change your logo image to white with a transparent background so that it sits nicely on the black.

Catrina, The code above worked on all browsers except Internet Explorer, which caused the whole site to be black. Is there another code I need to fix the IE problem? Thanks Tuan
