Cannot add Comments

I cannot get the comments to display on posts pages.

When I click on "Add Comment" on a posts page, the redirect to

occurs, but nothing else happens, I cannot post a comment.

I have never had comments before on this site- so I do not know when the comments stopped working.

I have tried disabling all plugins but the problem remains.

I have the following settings:

1. Settings > Discussion:
Allow people to post comments on new articles= TRUE
Users must be registered and logged in to comment = FALSE
Automatically close comments on articles older than 14 days = FALSE

2. Pagelines > Settings > Blog and Posts > Full Width Post Meta:

3. Pagelines > Templates > Blog Post > Content Area:
Active Sections= PostLoop, Posts Info, Comments, Post/Page Pagination

4. On the Singe Post > Page Setup > Content > Hide Comments = FALSE

5. Settings > Permalinks > Common Settings = Post Name

Your site is not loading for me, but... Disable all plugins to see if the issue persists. This is most likely related to a redirection plugin, a faulty plugin, or a plugin that modifies your links. Also, try visiting WP permalinks settings and just re-save your settings (don't change anything).

Hi simple_ mama, thanks for your reply. Yes, I changed the .info ending to DOT info :) Yes, I've tried disabling all plugins, No dice :( I've also gone into Permalinks are re-saved them, No dice :( Anything else that could be it?

Ah yes.. the DOT. ;) The reason you aren't seeing comments is because whatever you are using for the review form IS the comment form. It has been repurposed. Doesn't look like you can have both, but maybe try contacting that plugin author for assistance?

hmm, I just right now disabled the reviews plugin and cleared the cache, I have a chaching plugin- but the comments still do not show. I have done it several times to disable all plugins- and the comments do not show. Should I Delete the plugin? Could that produce a different result than just temporarily disabling it? Thanks!

ah, I only turned it the plugin off briefly to test, and then I turned it on again. As my site is live- I did not want to leave the plugin off a long time. However, as you're looking at it now :) I will turn off the plugin and leave it off until I hear back from your or until I get too nervous :)

Is that page using a custom post type? You can reactivate now.

Also, is the comments section added in Template under Content Area -> Blog Post?

Thanks! I have reactivated the plugin. The post is a normal post type, as far as I know. I made it by going to: Admin Dashboard > Posts > Add new However- I just solved it! Strange, but apparently, it Was the Reviews plugin! You were right, my apologies for doubting :( I created a new post, just as I had before, but I did Not enable reviews for this new post- and the Comments showed up just fine! The strange thing is, even when I Disabled the plugin, the problem wouldn't fix itself !? Does this mean that sometimes things remain even if the plugin is disabled ?? Will the problem be fixed if I Delete the plugin?? I know that's not a question for you, just thinking aloud. Thank You! I've been banging my head against the wall the last 3 days over this.

Deleting the plugin may or may not fix it. I honestly cannot tell you for sure. The only reason I knew the reviews took the place of the comments is because the Jigoshop plugin is the same exact way. :) Glad to have helped!
