My biggest issue is: I would like the Current NAV BAR to be my STATIC PAGES and appear at the VERY TOP of the site, above the header. This very top nav would have a BLOG page where the most recent posts in ANY category are found. I would then like to have a SECONDARY NAV BAR containing BLOG POSTS BY CATEGORY appear below the header. These secondary nav bar categories would automatically update their posts, in order of most recent to oldest. I have been told that this IS possible and I can get help doing it if I post the question in this forum... HELP! :)

Okay my first question would be to ask you if you're using WP3.0, the new menu feature in this version of WP will be helpful. I would create the menus that you want first then I'll help you place them

realized there is one thing above that I didn't specify... I would like the second 'category nav bar' to show ONLY when they are IN the BLOG PAGE of the blog (not when they are on about me, or any other main NAV BAR page) still possible? is this better accomplished on the side bar as a widget instead of altering code? thanks again, i appreciate your help :)

Well, yes it's VERY easy if you wanted to use a widget especially with the new WP3.0 menus, you could even get it on certain pages by using a different sidebar for the blog page. Otherwise we will have to modify and create PHP, CSS, and HTML code. What do you want to do moving forward?
