I've been using a plugin called WP UI to pull the latest post from a specific category to a custom made small section on the bottom left of our homepage. The Director of our library makes a weekly post there.

The issue is the word count (set to 40 words now in pagelines) doesn't have a way to care about line breaks. Is there some way to compensate for this?

I read another topic http://www.pagelines...st-paragraph/p1 Pross had suggested to use the wordpress built in excerpt function. The issue for me is now the word count is ignored and I'll have to check to make sure the writer (our Director/Big boss) is doing it right. That probably won't fly lol

This isn't a huge deal but it seems to be something I have to constantly, manually manage.

In the Blog and Posts settings, you can remove the line breaks from "allowed tags in excerpts" at the bottom of the page.
