I've brought up a new environment which was running my old PlatformPro data and set it to upgrade to PageLines Framework and got a stream of error messages messily tapered on top of the wp-admin panel:

Warning: fread(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in /data/25/2/141/5/2630005/user/2885579/htdocs/testSite/wp-includes/functions.php on line 4455 Warning: fclose(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in /data/25/2/141/5/2630005/user/2885579/htdocs/testSite/wp-includes/functions.php on line 4458 Warning: fopen(/data/25/2/141/5/2630005/user/2885579/htdocs/testSite/wp-content/plugins/w3-total-cache/w3-total-cache.php) [function.fopen]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /data/25/2/141/5/2630005/user/2885579/htdocs/testSite/wp-includes/functions.php on line 4452 Warning: fread(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in /data/25/2/141/5/2630005/user/2885579/htdocs/testSite/wp-includes/functions.php on line 4455 Warning: fclose(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in /data/25/2/141/5/2630005/user/2885579/htdocs/testSite/wp-includes/functions.php on line 4458 Warning: fopen(/data/25/2/141/5/2630005/user/2885579/htdocs/testSite/wp-content/plugins/w3-total-cache/w3-total-cache.php) [function.fopen]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /data/25/2/141/5/2630005/user/2885579/htdocs/testSite/wp-includes/functions.php on line 4452 Warning: fread(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in /data/25/2/141/5/2630005/user/2885579/htdocs/testSite/wp-includes/functions.php on line 4455 Warning: fclose(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in /data/25/2/141/5/2630005/user/2885579/htdocs/testSite/wp-includes/functions.php on line 4458
I have done similar operations before without this problem but this is disconcerting. Does anyone have any ideas?

Some of these errors are functions file-related and one is plugin-related. Have you tried deactivating the w3 total cache plugin?

No i hadn't but I did disable the bbforums and then it worked. Not sure why this hadn't happened before. I'll close this one.
