Website not working in IE and cannot create new custom Templates.

Question

Posted · Report post

1. Since upgrading to Pagelines 2.0, my website won't load in IE. What's going on? http://test.questarentertainment.com/ 2. Still can't figure out why my templates aren't appearing. In pagelines-customize (the plugin I downloaded to make function.php and style.css changes), I have created a number of files with the naming structure of page.contact.php Then, within that File:

<?php
	/*
		Template Name: Contact Page
	*/

	setup_pagelines_template();

Please help with the templates - it's all I have left to correct before I can start rebuilding my CSS.

I can see your page in IE without any problems, I've just accessed your site.

Same here in IE9. What version of IE are you using? Some versions have problems generally.

Strange, it says error on my home PC and then freezes my work PC. Any idea on the templates? Anyone gotten them to work? If so, how?

The error appear to come when IE tried to load Easy Fancy Box. This plugin worked in IE on Platform Pro - what's up?

It may be incompatible. Have you considered an alternative plugin?

I had the same problem - seems this plugin was responsible: FancyBox for WordPress Deactivated and deleted it - now the site loads nice and quick. Anyone know a compatible fancybox type plugin?

I am using FancyBox for WordPress on my PageLines site. Does it cause any issues for you in IE? http://simplemama.com/sharebar-extended/ (just click any of the image thumbs on the page). I don't have IE to test but works in FF, Chrome, and Safari.

Hi Simple Mama Yes your site has the same problem - it loads, but then the browser freezes for about 10 seconds (well whole eocmputer really). Surely there is a similar plugin that is compatible with pagelines pro?

If you enable Twenty Eleven, do you get the same issue ?

I can confirm this problem doesn't occur with Twenty Eleven - just pagelines pro

There may be a similar plugin available here: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/. A Google search would also yield results (blog posts where a list of similar plugins are compiled).

Are there any you know of that have been tested and proven to work with pagelines pro?

Hi @jfitch I had a few people look at my site using IE8 and IE9 and they said they didn't have any issues loading the FancyBox. It is possible that you have a browser add-on conflict. Perhaps you should disable your IE add-ons and see how it works then. Otherwise you can try using another plugin, like Easy FancyBox (works in my IE testing also).
