Place Second Footer

Question

Sorry, I pushed the wrong button (Accept) and therefore did not receive response to the following: From: catrina August 8 This answer was Accepted. The CSS should be added to Custom Code and the footer itself needs to be added to the footer file. You can edit the footer file directly, but the problem with that is that the change you make will be overwritten when you upgrade the theme. This can be avoided by creating a child theme for StationPro so that you can edit files without worrying about your changes disappearing after theme updates. More on that here: http://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes If you don't mind making the change to the file directly, I can show you what code to use. What code are you using right now? Also, can you please post a link to your site? They also present me with additional challenges. (a) First, my URL: http://www.prallagon.com (B) I've tried several times with this Custom Code but could not get it to work:

To start, the "Custom Code" should not be put in a style tag. Please try it without those, instead just inserting it into the Custom Code->CSS box.

Thanks, Kate. Tried, but did not work. Decided to try the following test CSS custom code. View results at: http://www.prallagon.com I want to fill and align the 2nd footer with the widgetized section above it, and to have the same section spacing from it as appears with the other section. Frankly, I need your help. Thanks. #footertop { text-align: left; border-top: none; clear: both; padding: 75px; text-align: left; color: #FFF; } .footerbox { padding:150px; width: 560px; background: #A29982; float: left; color: #4d4236; } Changes made to footer.php:

I looked at the site, but unfortunately I'm not clear on what you're trying to do... sorry! Would you please explain this part:

I want to fill and align the 2nd footer with the widgetized section above it, and to have the same section spacing from it as appears with the other section.

Kate, I simply want to create a 2nd footer approximately one-half the size of the 1st footer and align it properly. Notice that there is a specific distance between each section, and this I want to maintain. Width and background color to reflect that of the 1st footer. I'm struggling with the code to complete this operation and require your assistance. I will use the 2nd footer to place links to internal pages and external websites. Thanks.

That 2nd footer looks gigantic, as well. The height looks to be extremely huge. Perhaps add this to the CSS for .footerbox:

height: 50px;

Let me know how that works for you.
