    Using Vimeo/YouTube in Revslider
    Hi there,

I have embedded a video into a Revslider slide by uploading it to 'uploads' in my WordPress folder.  I am using MaxCDN which is serving the video but it is still jerky and does not stream smoothly if at all (On IE all I get is sound).

Is there a way to embed (ideally) Vimeo or YouTube videos into the slide?  It doesn't seem to recognise the Vimeo URL to the video.

    Cheers

Recent Update (2.1.3) and Header Issues
Just a quick post in case anyone else has this issue, it's been frustrating me for a few days.

After updating to the latest release of DMS, 2.1.3 (did all plugin updates first), the header section of my site was repeated, it showed two of them.  So I went to the DMS editor, removed one, they both went.  Saved, but it would not.  Deleted the header sections, saved, but they remained.

After banging my head against a brick wall for a few hours over the last few days I found a setting in the DMS editor that I turned off and it seemed to fix the issue.

If you have this issue go to 'Site Settings' in the DMS Editor and tick the box that reads 'Disable Header Region'.  This leaves you with one header section that actually saves when you update it.

Not sure if this is a plugin conflict or a bug, but I have a live site that is taking £15k+ of orders per month and I refuse to do yet another plugin disable to find yet more DMS conflicts.

This is a quick win for anyone suffering the same issue.

A Fallback for Browsers not Running Javascript
    Hi there,

Quick question.  I had a customer call me saying my site was 'broken' and they couldn't place an order.  After much trouble shooting it turned out they had JavaScript disabled.  Out of curiosity I turned off JS in my browser to see what happened to the site, in essence nothing loads.

I was surprised that there was no fallback image for the slider and that it leaves a big white space where the images would be.  Is there a way to stop this happening and create a fallback for those with browsers whose JS is switched off?

    Thanks,

    Yep that worked thanks.

Not sure why that would have happened, worked before update?

    All sorted cheers.

  5. thebastion added an answer to a question 404 Page Errors

I was changing some pages around today and noticed that an old dead link threw up the error.

When logged into Chrome a 404 is what I get.  See attached Capture.PNG.

In all other browsers and Chrome when not logged on I get Capture2.PNG

I just can't work out what is going on with other browsers and when not logged in to Chrome.  Why isn't the section showing?  Did something change with DMS 2?

    404 Page Errors
    Hi there,

I have noticed an error that appears on my site when I should be getting a 404 error.  The error is at the top of the page and reads:

Warning: Illegal string offset 'clone' in /home/lifeskil/public_html/wp-content/themes/dms/dms/editor/editor.handler.php on line 357

The  header and footer render Ok but the actual 404 detail does not.

Strangely this doesn't happen when I am logged in to the site using Chrome, but does when I log out.  It happens on all other browsers logged in or out.

    Any ideas?

  7. thebastion added an answer to a question DMS 2 Forces Unsecure Social Media Elements on Page

Ok, so in the absense of anything helpful I took a look at the site using IE's inspection tool which highlighted the issue as some code in the  dms/dms/js/pl.common.js file:

    Line 533

                var that = this
                ,    url = "http://graph.facebook.com/?id="+ that.shareLocation +'&callback=?'
                ,    shareBtn = $('[data-social="facebook"]')

    Line 486

                var that = this
                ,    url = 'http://urls.api.twitter.com/1/urls/count.json?url=+that.shareLocation+&callback=?'
                ,    shareBtn = $('[data-social="twitter"]')

    Line 465

                var that = this
                ,    url = 'http://api.pinterest.com/v1/urls/count.json?url=+that.shareLocation+&callback=?'
                ,    shareBtn = $('[data-social="pinterest"]')

    Line 507

                var that = this
                ,    url = 'http://www.linkedin.com/countserv/count/share?url=+that.shareLocation+&callback=?'
                ,    shareBtn = $('[data-social="linkedin"]')

I changed the 4 instances of 'http' to 'https' and the insecure elements disappeared.  As I stated, the errors disappeared when I changed the theme so it had to be a DMS issue.  The worrying thing here is that I have no Social elements on my pages, so why is DMS adding them?

Hopefully that will help someone the wasted time of hunting the issue down again.

Maybe the devs can make the update?  Adding js to a child theme is a ball ache.

Mmm... not sure what is causing that error but have dropped it on my hosts to look at.

I however am definitely seeing non-ssl content using FireBug's consol as copied and pasted above.  These disappear when I activate the 2014 theme and only started when I updated DMS to version 2.

One of each of these in FireFox for the 4 social sites:       'Blocked loading mixed active content "http://graph.facebook.com/?id=https://lifeskills-education.co.uk/" '   One each of these for the Console in Chrome:       'The page at 'https://lifeskills-education.co.uk/' was loaded over HTTPS, but ran insecure content from 'http://www.linkedin.com/countserv/count/share?url=https://lifeskills-educat…co.uk/&callback=jQuery1102022143942676484585_1396013658191&_=1396013658192': this content should also be loaded over HTTPS. DMS 2 Forces Unsecure Social Media Elements on Page
    Hi there,

I have upgraded to DMS 2 today, everything went smoothly and apart from some minor amends everything worked apart from one thing.

I have an EV SSL Certficate installed on my site from GoDaddy.  Before the update the whole site had the green bar on all browsers.  After the update it's not showing on Opera, Chrome or Safari and IE is saying not displaying insecure elements.  FireFox seems Ok with it although the FireBug console does throw up errors.

If I switch the theme back to 2014 the errors disappear, so it is the theme causing the issue.  I have no social media set up on the site at all, I don't want it.

I can't seem to find anywhere in DMS to switch the calls to FaceBook, LinkedIn, Twitter and Pinterest off.  They are casuing the Unsecure Element issues.

SSL is set up through our host's server via GoDaddy EV SSL.
WordPress admin General Settings is set to HTTPS for the site's WordPress Address and Site Address so the whole site is HTTPS.
I added this code to my .htaccess file to force SSL/HTTPS:

        #Force SSL on Entire Site
        RewriteEngine on
        RewriteCond %{HTTPS} off
        RewriteRule ^(.*)$ https://%{HTTP_HOST}/$1 [R=301,L]

    Any ideas?

    Cheers

  12. thebastion added an answer to a question What version of WooCommerce are you guys running?

Have you tried a quick theme change, that and switching off your plugins are the two quick checks.  Just remember to resave your permalinks once you've changed the theme and deactivated your plugins.

It would seem a lot of people are having theme issues, I have seen issues with Projects Part Deux, WP Videos and 404 Redirect plugins.

Good luck getting it sorted, it has been a nightmare.  WooThemes have not dealt with this upgrade well in my opinion.

Haha, I found the problem.  Just in case anyone else comes across this i'll add it here.

Disable all plugins THEN reset Permalinks, I just went to Permalinks and resaved them.  Get the 404 page on another tab ready to refresh, once plugins are off and permalinks are reset, refresh your page, it should work.

Reactivate plugins one by one and refresh the page with the endpoint until you get the 404.  That's your plugin causing the issues.

Remember, reset permalinks AFTER deactivating your plugins otherwise you'll just get the 404's keep rolling.

My plugin was Nick Haskins and Co Projects Part Deux.  The second time this month it has caused me a headache...

Hopefully that will help someone in the future.

Yeah, I wouldn't advise you upgrade, I've been through 2.1, 2.1.1 and 2.1.2, flushed my permalinks and switched themes and turned off every plugin, no joy.

Just wanted to see if anyone had 2.1+ working with DMS so I can be sure it's not the theme. I don't think it is.

    Woo support still mysteriously quiet!

What version of WooCommerce are you guys running?
    Hi there,

Can I ask what version of woocommerce you are running on Pagelines?

I updated to 2.1.2 and they have removed certain pages and replaced them with 'ENDPOINTS', which are throwing up 404 errors.

In true woocommerce style the woo support team are blaming everything else rather than address the issue.

Despite me installing the 2014 theme and deactivating every plugin it still isn't working, I just wanted to see if you had 2.1.0 or higher working with DMS yet so I could tell woo support.

Any light you could shed would be helpful.

    Cheers

    Stuart
