Hero Nav is backwards compatible with Framework 2.x. The problem may be in your install method.
The zip package from PageLines (my-account) is a plugin with a file structure like this:
For Framework, you have a few options for installing the plugin, however, as of right now I don't believe that the sections will receive auto-updates any more -- I could be mistaken.
Your installation options are:
Your child theme's sections directory (if you're using a child theme) `themes/child-theme/sections/`
In the pagelines-sections container plugin. `plugins/pagelines-sections/` (this is where it would be installed in the past when you purchased it and installed it through the built-in store)
The part where I think you may be getting confused is that, you need to copy over only the section into one of those 2 directories.
Hope that helps! Let me know how that works for you.
Thanks for the heads up. Can you tell me which version of Sidekick & DMS you have installed? Also, are you experiencing this with or without the PageLines Updater plugin installed (and if so what version)?
Sorry, still no plans to add this yet! If this is something really important for you or your client, we could discuss contracting the development of the feature, but I don't know when/if this will be added. If you're interested in discussing this more, please send me a private message.
Most of the options for Hero Nav will not take effect with a simple refresh, you probably need to flush the DMS cache to regenerate the styles. See here: http://forum.pagelines.com/topic/36451-hero-nav-non-change-colo-in-admin-mode/#entry216066
Hey Cliff, thanks for bringing this to my attention! It seems as though DMS may have recently changed the way it stores the values for these options which broke some of the logic I had for determining which option set to use.
I've corrected this and just released v 1.2.5 to fix this.
After investigating this a bit more, I can tell that this is happening whenever the page loads with the DMS toolbox closed. If the page loads with the toolbox opened, it displays correctly. I'll keep you posted with the solution. For now, simply refreshing the page with the toolbox open should do the trick.
I'm not sure what could be causing this, as I am unable to reproduce this myself. Those options are showing up just fine on a clean install for me.
Hero Nav 1.3
What version of Hero Nav are you using?
Please upgrade DMS to the latest version first to see if that resolves the issue for you.
If that doesn't work, try disabling any non PL extensions to see if that helps.
